Moving checklist – 4 weeks before you move

  
  Choose the moving company from the quotes you requested earlier and make a reservation. Get a written confirmation of your moving date, costs, and other details.
   
  Notify important parties about your change of address. Give your new address to:
  • Family and friends 
  • Post office 
  • Utility companies

    • electricity company
    • water company

    • internet provider
  • Insurance companies
  • Banks and financial institutions
    • Cheque 
    • Savings 
    • Loans

  • Schools

    • Newspapers 
    • Magazines 
    • Record club

  Decide who will do the packing. Will you do it yourself or will your moving company do it for you?
   
  Involve your children in the moving process. Let them help you pack their own room and let them suggest a layout for their new room.
 
   
  Return all library books and pick up all dry cleaning and repaired items.
